What you will learn:
With this 30 minute video, you’ll see me using a riot of colour, a water spray and a way of working around the painting which will help you explore lots of qualities of watercolour.
Nothing more than a sense of adventure is required to have a go at painting in this way! Don’t worry if you don’t have my colours, have a play with the ones in your palette.
Materials:
Artist quality pigments:
Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Red, Burnt Sienna, Raw Sienna, Permanent Mauve, Ultramarine Blue, Pthalo Turquoise, Lemon yellow (a little Cadmium Orange and Cadmium Yellow).
Paper: 37cm x 37cm Saunders Waterford, 300gsm NOT
Brushes: Round no.4, rigger brush and old toothbrush!
Small hand-size spray bottle. These are available from most chemists and are normally not more than £1. They give a fine spray, ideal for this size of work. A roll of kitchen towel is great to mop up excess water!
I have shown below my resource image. Once you’ve got the idea, let your imagination run riot and paint a rooster of your choosing!
